The atlas contains 380 pages of maps, figures and tables along with an index of 150,000 entries . Pergamon Press, atracted by the outstanding quality both in prodution and cartographic content of the Polish Atlas Swiata, prepared and printed by the Polish Army Topographical Service, decided to make this major work more widely vailable by arranging with PWN - Polish Scientific Publishers in Warsaw for the prodution of an English edition. The result is the Pergamon World Atlas - one of the most comprehensive works of this kind ever to be published! This massive atlas (weighing nearly 5.5 kilograms and containing 48 square meters of maps) is of high cartographic and aesthetic quality, and provides a rich assortment of thematic (over 400) as well as hundreds of physical and political maps. Includes pictures of the flag and a synopsis for each country. Liberal yet tasteful and effective use of tinted colors, especially for topography and bathymetry.
