The history of American colonization is to most persons the record of the activities of the Cavalier and the Puritans. Little thought is given to the story of the Dutchmen who strove to create a New Netherland, or to the Swedes who warred with the Duch and the English in the Delaware country, nor, endeed, is much general interes shown in the accounts of the founation of New Jersey, Delaware or Maryland. Printed in 1904.
